About The Habit Comedy
The Habit is a Seattle-based comedy troupe that was formed in 1996 at the University of Washington by lead writer Jeff Schell with friends Ryan Dobosh, David Swidler, John Osebold, Lucas Thayer, and Mark Siano. The group was originally named "Humphrey's Habit," after Humphrey Davey, the inventor of laughing gas. The group has garnered a large and dedicated following in Seattle and has performed sketch comedy in Los Angeles, New York, Montreal, San Francisco, and Chicago. The Habit has transformed from being a sketch troupe into a comedy writing company which specializes in adapting evening length parody scripts for the theatre. The Habit's new plays and musicals include A Very Die Hard Christmas, Titanish, Jurassic Parking Lot, and Indy Jones. These shows have not only had sold runs in the Pacific Northwest at Seattle Public Theater, but have also been performed in theatres large and small all over the United States and Canada.
